Wow. What an exciting adventure our rafting trip through the Grand Canyon was for our son, Kevin, and me. We took a lot of pictures, but no camera can adequately capture the grandeur and beauty of this wonder of creation
       The "Grand Canyon" is an understatement, since it is 300 miles long, up to 18 miles across, and one mile deep! The Canyon, the river, the wildlife, the oasis's we discovered in the side canyons, were all remarkable.
       I was reminded of Psalm 121. "I lift up my eyes to the hills - where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth."
       The beauty of creation is a clear reminder that it all comes from God, who created everything that is out of nothing..."the maker of heaven and earth."
       It is also a reminder of how powerful God is and that he is the source of our help.
       We went through over 70 rapids on our trip - but we made it safely through them all, thanks to our guides.
       We encounter a lot of rapids in our lives too, but God promises to be present and guide us through them also.
       We need to keep our focus on Him and His word and not merely our problems, asking for His daily strength and direction.
       The apostle Paul includes this blessing in his letter to the Ephesians, "Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work in us..."
       That's the kind of power and wisdom we all need as we navigate the river of life.
