Summer is winding down and the new school year is beginning.
That also means that youth group is starting again! Since
I am writing this newsletter; guess what that means?? I am
staying on as interim youth director for the 2010-2011 school
year. I am very excited to continue to grow in faith with
the students from last year, as well as, welcome new students
into youth group. Along with support from Pastor Seth and
volunteers, I know we will have a great year to come. Here
are some important things to note:
Pastor Seth and I have been planning for our new ministry
year together and are excited to get going. Perhaps the biggest
thing you should be aware of is our new schedule for this
year. Our first meetings will be on September 12 and 14.
High School will meet on Sunday evenings from 7:00-8:45
Middle School will meet on Tuesday evenings from 6:30-8:00
à dinner included!
Now you may be sitting there flipping through the latest
J. Crew catalogue drinking a Fanta and wondering why we have
a new schedule. In short, we want to make sure that we can
devote our full resources to making each of our ministries
the best that they can be each and every week. A great step
in that direction is giving each group their own night so
that we can provide a unique experience. Middle schoolers:
come hungry! High schoolers: you should learn how to feed
yourselves.
Adults in the congregation We need your help!
We want our middle school and high school students to have
the best experience possible. If you are feeling led to be
in ministry with middle school or high school students, even
if you dont know what you want to do, please contact
Pastor Seth or I (pastorseth@lindenpres.com / nicjones1984@yahoo.com).
Wed love to invite you into experiences that will change
your life and the lives of our youth.
We also need people to help feed our ravenous middle schoolers!
If you can cook or know how to spend money at places that
provide meals, please contact the church office (810.735.5755
or lpcoffice@lindenpres.com) to sign up for a Tuesday night.
Pastor Seth and I look forward to seeing you soon!

| High
school youth: our ministry to high schoolers is growing
every week. Our recent change to our format has been successful
and provides youth with the opportunity to get involved
with other teens while experiencing challenging lessons
about Christ in new and different ways. |

| Middle
school youth: perhaps the most successful of its
kind locally, our middle school youth program has seen
dozens of youth come to a better understanding of Jesus,
all while experiencing hilarious skits and participating
in games that help them understand how fun God really
is. |

"Everyday
they continued to meet together in the temple
courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate
together with glad and sincere hearts, praising
God and enjoying the favor of all people. And
the Lord added to their number daily those who
were being saved."
Acts 2:46-47

The Youth Textament is a huge hit.
I text a Bible verse via cell phone to everyone signed up
once a day to help encourage each other with the Word of God.
Every week, I get more people wanting to be a part of this.
I currently have 22 people receiving daily text messages.
After the verse is sent out, it sparks great conversations
between all of us.
