One
Great Hour of Sharing
|
|
Its
remarkable what
your gift will do
For over 50 years, the One Great Hour of Sharing offering
has drawn Christians together to address the plight
of refugees, provide disaster relief, and bring developmental
assistance to those in need throughout the world.
In cooperation with partner churches in more than
70 countries, your ONE GREAT HOUR OF SHARING contributions
support dedicated health care and developmental workers
seeking long-term solutions to problems of poverty,
hunger and disease. Here at home, funds are made available
for disaster relief long after events have faded from
the headlines.
By participating in ONE GREAT HOUR OF SHARING, yours
becomes more than a single voice crying in the wilderness.
Together, pooling our resources and gifts, we make
a significant difference in the world of the homeless,
the poor, the hungry, and the ell-clothed, that Gods
works might be revealed around the globe.
Offering envelopes will be available in the pews.
Through the years, our congregation has made a significant
witness through this offering. Open wide your heart,
and be a part of the ONE GREAT HOUR OF SHARING. Give
the gift of grace. Give hope, give help, give growth,
give life. Give now to the One Great Hour of Sharing.

Ummm
Casseroles!
The
Linden Presbyterian Church will be making casseroles
for those in our congregation and local community
who could use a comforting meal.
The
Casserole Construction Crew is organizing once again
to begin assembling delicious casseroles for special
needs in our church and community. The next construction
date is scheduled for Wednesday, December 2nd. We
meet in the kitchen at 7:00 with aprons on, utensils
and ingredients ready, and a heart anxious to serve
our Lord. If this sounds like something you would
like to do, call Sue Chapel at 629-6396 or Mary Sweet
at 735-1929.

New
Books for our Library
When
the Christian Bookstore in Fenton closed, they donated
several books, CDs, and DVDs to our church. What a
blessing for us!! We will certainly miss this wonderful
store.
We invite you to stop by the Library and check out
the new books which are marked NEW BOOKS. They are
on one shelf on the wall directly behind the Chancel.
We are going to set up a sign-out so that we know
who is enjoying these books along with all of the
other books in our Library.

from a cookbook compiled by the Presbyterian Women of
Dayton, Ohio in 1872. So come join us and taste breakfast
as they might have enjoyed when the LPC was founded.
Samples will be available to taste at the Lenten potlucks
on Sunday March 6th and 20th.
