We
want you to feel right at home so let us answer some questions
you may have.
Who
are we?
Linden Presbyterian consists of a wide range
of different people, from all ages and different backgrounds.
Whoever you are you can be assured of a warm welcome from
a very friendly church.
When
to arrive
We
have two different styles of services to choose from so we
want you to come to the one that best fits your preferences.
Our 9:00 am service is the Traditional service. The
Chancel Choir will sing and the congregation will join in
with traditional hymns. During this time we have Sunday School
for the children.
Our 10:30 service is the Contemporary service. We are
led in song by the Praise Team and Band and will sing more
contemporary praise songs. During this service we have a Children's
Sermon and then children are released to Children's Church.
At whichever service you select, you will be greeted at the
door by our welcoming team who will be happy to answer any
questions you may have. You will be happy to hear there is
plenty of free parking and you can find driving directions
here.
What to wear
This is easy. Wear whatever you feel comfortable in. We are
an informal church and welcome people as they are. There is
no need to dress up or down. Whether you come in a suit or
jeans, that is fine with us.
What to expect
For some people going anywhere for the first time can be a
nervous experience. To help avoid any uncertainty, here is
what you can expect at Linden Pres. First of all, we all had
our "first day" at church and you will find we are
a friendly bunch. When you come in you will be given a bulletin
with announcements and a schedule of the service so you can
follow along if you choose to. To begin the service we all
welcome each other. Then the pastor makes announcements of
events coming up and then he will begin the message. Following
the service we have a coffee and donuts time in our Fellowship
Hall. This is a great time to relax and meet people. Our hope
is that wherever you are in your Christian walk, you will
leave with the feeling of being glad you came.
What
we believe
We are a Christian church and believe that all can have a
relationship with God. We believe this relationship with God
is possible because of Jesus (God's only son) who invites
us to follow him. We have a very friendly relationship with
the other churches in the area and sometimes combine services
for special occasions.
Is
it just Sundays?
Absolutely not! God is with us all week long and we aim to
lead lives pleasing to him. We are not perfect but we desire
to make a positive
difference in everything we do. To further encourage us we
have periodic small groups, meeting in someone's home, which
are a great way to get to know others and to be real with
each other about everyday living. We also have a full schedule
of events every month. You can view our current
calendar for an idea of events in the church.
Have
a disability?
We aim to be an all-inclusive church. We have ramp access
for those needing a wheelchair accessible entrance, handicap
parking spots available for those who need them and audio
devices available for the hearing impaired.
