On
April 22, 2010 we were thrilled to be part of a memorial
for our Ginny Colvin. The service was beautiful and
we were given a tree by the family in honor of Ginny.
The tree selected is a Tree Lilac Ivory Silk.
Some of us, myself included, were unsure of the tree
selected for location we chose. But I personally spoke
with experts in the field and want to share their
opinion. Attending the memorial was Mary Wilson who
is head of the MSU Master Gardener programs for all
of the counties in southeast Michigan, and Terry McLean,
Horticulture Educator and Master Gardener Coordinator
for MSU Extension in Genesee County. Both assured
me the tree will stay compact and grow in an upward
form instead of spreading out and overtaking the area.
They both agree it will be a lovely addition to our
gardens.

Thank you Gardeners!
I want to give a big Thank You to all of you who stepped
up and volunteered to be part of our Garden Ministry:
