Discovering Your Spiritual Gifts
Unwrap what God has given you for your ministry.
When we receive Christ and follow him as our Lord and Savior, we are given the Holy
Spirit, who gives each and every one of us spiritual gifts to live our lives of faith. We are
given spiritual gifts so that we may serve others and fulfill the mission of the Church
Universal - our spiritual gifts are not for our own benefit but for the glory of God.

"Church Challenge" - throughout the year CE will have "Church Challenges" to help encourage both the youth and adults to continue your spiritual growth. February's challenge if you choose to accept is the following: Replace 5 hours weekly of television with 5 hours of Biblestudy. You can do this on an individual basis, use the buddy system or together as a family activity. The Bible is a library filled with 66 books to choose from so your choices are limitless. Example - pick adifferent person from the Bible each week that you would like to learn more about and see what youcan discover. There will be a sign up sheet in Whitney Hall so that we can track participation and helpprovide encouragement.

The Focusing Ministry is an opportunity for the entire congregation to come together and to discover the work that God has been doing. If you were not able to join us for Summit 1 we strongly encourage you to participate in Summits 2 and 3. Please pray for us - if we are to succeed in doing the work God chooses for us, we need to ask for His help! There will be a Focusing Ministry table each week in Whitney Hall during coffee hour. A team member will be there to answer questions and receive feedback/suggestions - please be sure to stop by, whether you were at the first summit or not. Check the schedule of events here.
Per Capita for 2012 is $22.68. Per capita funding is how Presbyterians mutually share the costs of coming together to discern the Spirit’s leading for the future. It is how Presbyterians are trained to become better elders and ministers. It is how Presbyterians discern God’s call in their lives. It is how Presbyterians participate in the life of the wider church by serving on GA committees and commissions. It is how Presbyterians participate in the life of the Church universal as we commit ourselves to work and live in fellowship with “all persons in every nation” (Book of Order, G-4.0101)

When the Christian Bookstore in Fenton closed, they donated several books, CDs, and DVDs to our church. What a blessing for us!! We will certainly miss this wonderful store.
We invite you to stop by the Library and check out the new books which are marked NEW BOOKS. They are on one shelf on the wall directly behind the Chancel.
We are going to set up a sign-out so that we know who is enjoying these books along with all of the other books in our Library.
